Child Development Homes

Child Development Homes (CDH) offer quality care in a loving, learning home environment for children ages 6 weeks to 12 years.  CDH offers flexible hours, 24/7 care, low child-to-adult ratios and convenient locations. Homes may apply for accreditation from the National Association for Family Child Care (NAFCC).

The Navy CDH Program is looking for qualified applicants who would like to work from home and who also has an sincere passion to nurture, love and care for children on Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling. The program is seeking individuals who would like to earn extra income while providing quality child care in their homes. If you don’t mind opening your home up to families, home inspections and background clearances, then the next exciting thing is awaiting for you. Military Housing Guidance States: Resident may provide in-home child care ONLY through participation in the Child Development Homes program. Resident must be certified through the Navy sponsored Child Development Program if child care is conducted in the Premises for more than 10 cumulative hours per week (i.e., Resident cares for three children for four hours is 12 hours of child care). Resident must also comply with all applicable state and local laws regarding child care. Conducting an unauthorized child care business shall result in an immediate cease of operations and may also result in eviction.
